Whether or not you're a fan of the pigskin, chances are you'll be in front of a TV this Sunday, chowing down when the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Green Bay Packers meet at Cowboys Stadium for Super Bowl XLV. Roughly 106.5 million viewers tuned in to last year's gridiron classic, and it's a safe bet that not all of them were football fans. Why did they watch? Because the game itself is just one (admittedly central) element of the nationally televised extravaganza that is the Super Bowl (airing on Fox this Sunday at 6:30 p.m. ET). Here are three reasons you'll want to tune in even if you could care less about football:
1. The Music: Before the game even starts, Blue Man Group will perform a 15-minute show. Glee's Lea Michele is slated to belt out "America the Beautiful," and Christina Aguilera will sing "The Star-Spangled Banner." Then burly athletic types (some of them not so tough on the eyes) will pummel each other for about an hour before the Black Eyed Peas take center stage for the year's most coveted TV performance slot, the halftime show. Usher (who features will.i.am on his single"O.M.G.") is reportedly going to make a guest appearance. So is Slash, who collaborated with Fergie on a song last year.
Some companies, like Volkswagen and Coke, have cannily released their Super Bowl spots on the Internet already. Two have already become viral sensations getting millions of hits, including the kid in the Darth Vader costume who just wants to get his Force mojo working (watch here):
And then there's the sleepwalker on safari, an endorsement for the lengths one man will go to get a Coke (watch below).
3. Glee! So even if the guys in tights... uh, NFL players... bore you, it won't be long before the game ends and a special supersized Glee follows the festivities.

'There is no truth to this rumor,' Hollywood Foreign Press Association president says.

The confusing war of words between British comedian Ricky Gervais and his two-time bosses at the Golden Globes appears to have reached an end.
First, the acerbic funnyman was blasted by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association for his take-no-prisoners hosting gig at the awards show, which he later claimed was well-received and no big deal. Then, Gervais was reportedly not invited back to host a third time, but denied that report in a magazine interview in which he claimed he was asked to return in 2012.
But on Tuesday, HFPA president Philip Berk released a statement that said in no uncertain terms, "There is no truth to this rumor. We have not asked him to come back. Nice try, Ricky."
Gervais, though, a master of stirring the pot, muddied the waters yet again on his blog late Tuesday, writing, "You may also have read that I am hosting next year's Golden Globes. This is not true. Not yet anyway. The TV show organizers said they were happy with everything and asked me to not rule out a third gig. However, it is not entirely up to them. The Hollywood Foreign Press and various other committees need to meet and agree. I have no idea if they want me back again. It depends whether they care about fifty delicate egos in the room or the 200 million people watching at home who want a laugh. Also, even if they did want me back, at the moment I'm pretty sure I shouldn't do it. But I'll tell you this. If they do invite me back and I accept, I'm going to pull exactly the same sh-- again or even worse. Once again, everyone has been warned."
Gervais clarified his comments later to The Hollywood Reporter, explaining explaining that he was mistaken when he referred to organizers and should have specified that he'd been asked by an executive at NBC, which aired the show.
"[The executive] called me and said he loved [the show], that it was great," Gervais told the Reporter about his January 16 hosting gig. "He said don't rule out a third gig. I said I don't think I'll do it again. I doubt I'll be invited back. And he said, just don't rule it out."
Gervais said he called Berk to explain the confusion because he was angry that the HFPA's statement made it seem like he was not telling the truth. "It's not fair," Gervais said. "I always tell the truth. ... So that's the thing that bothered me."

The actor, who plays dashing detective Elliot Stabler, has been married to wife Sherman Williams for 15 years and in an interview with REDBOOK talked about work, marriage and fatherhood.
On one particular experience of being a daddy: "One year on Christmas Eve, I stayed up with my daughter because she wanted to meet Santa. She crashed out, so I put her to bed, put the presents down, then climbed out on the roof ? because we?d left a tray of carrots and apples for the reindeer ? and I had to go bite into all of them. With Lady Gaga fans eagerly awaiting the release of Born This Way's first single, which is expected to be the album's title track, details about the rest of the recording are slowly emerging. Late Tuesday, Lady Gaga tweeted to thank her fans for making "Edge of Glory" a Twitter-trending topic. "Edge of Glory" is expected to be one of the track titles on the album.
"Ok. Firstly, yes I love Nutella (with Banana+Wonderbread) who doesn't?" Mother Monster wrote. "Secondly, I can't believe Edge of Glory was trending, sneakymonsters! Thirdly, I need a beer with my name on it cause the last 72hrs gave me a creative hangover."
Gaga apparently has been making references to the song as far back as September, when she tweeted, "I'm on the edge of glory, and I'm counting on a moment of truth. I'm on the edge of glory, and I'm counting on a moment with you."
Meanwhile, her best friends, New York band Semi Precious Weapons, also have been hinting at what fans might expect from Born This Way, which is set for release in May. "Just as she described it. It's amazing, epic," Weapons frontman Justin Tranter explained in a recent Q&A. "The most incredible album I've ever heard."
In addition, Gaga producer RedOne recently put in his two cents about the singer's new material, saying that her forthcoming single was "so beautiful.
Last week, a track off the album that Gaga remixed accompanied a short film by fashion photographer Mariano Vivanco that was shown at a Mugler fashion show in Paris. Discussing the tune, Vivanco said Mugler creative director and Gaga stylist Nicola Formichetti had found "a really articulate way" to describe it — " 'It's techno meets Whitney Houston, in a really good way.' DJs and producers have begun putting their spin on Spears' banging single.

It didn't take long for the club scene to put their spin on Britney Spears' single "Hold It Against Me." In the weeks since the pop star released the hard-pounding dance cut, DJs and producers have begun work on making sure it bangs the club even harder.
A few days ago, house legend Paul Oakenfold revealed on Twitter that he was putting together a "HIAM" remix, tweeting, "I'm in the studio working on Britney Spears remix its going well." Oakenfold previously remixed Spears' "Gimme More."
While fans have yet to hear how Oakenfold plays with "Hold It Against Me," electropop act Robots With Rayguns already have released their own, space-aged rendition on the tune. Their version combines '80s-inspired synths, robot noises and sparse beats, while keeping Spears' vocals at the forefront of the track. It sounds like Kylie Minogue's version of dance pop, playing up Spears' sex-kitten image.
DJ Mike Rizzo has offered up his own take on "Hold It Against Me," subtitled "Funk Generation Club Mix," and it goes dark where Robots With Rayguns went light. Playing up the song's already-heavy electro and house groove, this remix sounds like it would be right at home at any given dance party, with its lopped vocals, sirens and thumping beat.
The dance community has been vocal about their support of "Hold It Against Me."
"The more the stuff that is underground becomes mainstream, the more the underground is gonna change," Skrillex told MTV News with regard to the Dr. Luke/ Max Martin-produced tune. "I think it's gonna inspire people to obviously do something different.
"I thought the track was great overall," he added. "I'll be honest, man: I love Max Martin. I think he's an absolute genius. And Dr. Luke did it, right? I think they are a f---ing dream team. I love the track!"
Meanwhile, super-producer David Guetta says he's all for the track and Spears' further journey down the dance rabbit hole.
"My favorite part is that dub step break. I think that's really cool," he explained to MTV News. "It's like the beat is really simple and you're like, 'OK,' and then there's this huge chorus it's like, 'OK,' but then when they come with that dub step break ... It gives a totally different approach to the record. I love this. It's surprising. It's a big record."

Russell Brand, Willow Smith, Jonah Hill are just a few stars looking to revamp film and TV classics like 'Arthur', 'Annie' and '21 Jump Street.'

What do Willow Smith and Beyoncé have in common with Leonardo DiCaprio, Jonah Hill and Kenny Wormald? They're all starring (or in talks to star) in the latest round of remakes of beloved films and TV shows coming down the pike.
On Thursday, news broke that Beyoncé would be starring in a Clint Eastwood-directed remake of the 1976 Barbra Streisand classic "A Star Is Born" (which was a remake of a 1954 movie that remade a 1937 film). In the meantime, Will Smith is reportedly petitioning Sony to remake "Annie" (the 1982 movie and 1977 musical) starring his 10-year-old daughter, Willow, best known for whipping her hair.
In October it was announced that Leonardo DiCaprio and best bud Tobey Maguire would be starring in Baz Luhrmann's 3-D retelling of F. Scott Fitzgerald's novel "The Great Gatsby," with Carey Mulligan joining as Daisy Buchanan.
Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum have been working on bringing the '80s Johnny Depp-starring television series "21 Jump Street" to the big screen since 2008, and they might even get Depp to cameo in it in time for the film's March 16, 2012, release date.
And let's not forget the long hunt for a Ren McCormack (the character Kevin Bacon made famous in 1984), after Zac Efron and Chace Crawford dropped out of the planned "Footloose" remake that finally landed dancer Kenny Wormald the role of his life.
Then there's "Arthur," the Russell Brand-starring remake of the 1981 screwball comedy about a happily drunk millionaire who risks everything for love. The film has tapped everyone from Helen Mirren to Greta Gerwig and Nick Nolte.
Two recently announced remakes are "Lethal Weapon" and "The Wizard of Oz," which are still in early development and without stars attached. Warner Bros. announced their plans to reboot the Mel Gibson-starring franchise on Thursday and tapped writer Will Beall to pen the script with completely new characters. And director Robert Zemeckis announced back in November that he planned on remaking the 1939 Technicolor classic using the script from the original film, with Warner Bros. hoping Robert Downey Jr. will play Oz.
Just this past year, films from "Clash of the Titans" to "The Karate Kid" to "A Nightmare on Elm Street" were remade for the big screen and were well-received by audiences. "Alice in Wonderland" and "Clash of the Titans" went on to become two of the top 10 highest-grossing films of 2010, while "Piranha 3D" and "The A-Team" also went on to strong successes, proving that there definitely is a market for these kinds of remakes.

Actor may team up with his 'Inception' director Christopher Nolan for next installment of the Batman franchise.

We don't know what role Joseph Gordon-Levitt will play in "The Dark Knight Rises" — or even if he will in fact officially join the cast — but it's safe to say the 29-year-old would step into any part (big, small, heroic, villainous) if director Christopher Nolan asked him to.
From the way Gordon-Levitt has spoken about Nolan before and after their work together on "Inception," he'd likely walk across hot coals if the director thought it'd be a swell idea.
The first time we talked with Gordon-Levitt about Nolan — back in June 2009, before "Inception" began production — the actor spoke effusively about the chance to work with one of his favorite directors. "I love his movies and I'm so honored and grateful to be working with him," he told us.
He almost didn't get the chance. The role of Arthur, Leonardo DiCaprio's right-hand man in the world of dream thievery, was originally given to James Franco. But after scheduling conflicts left Franco unavailable for the lengthy "Inception" shoot, Gordon-Levitt stepped in and found himself in the midst of a seriously challenging production.
One scene, a zero-gravity fight set within the dream world, required him to train for two weeks with the stunt department to learn how to negotiate massive, rotating sets that Nolan built instead of relying on CGI trickery. "The mode, the fashion in Hollywood nowadays, is to do it all with computers later," Gordon-Levitt told us on the "Inception" red carpet last year. "But Christopher Nolan likes things to feel real."
The result, the actor said in an earlier interview, is "a genuine work of art from a master."
"He did 'The Dark Knight' and it was so successful that he got to do whatever the hell he wanted," Gordon-Levitt added. "And that's fantastic, to see a genuine artist do something on the grandest scale that Hollywood can muster."

Britney Spears' <i>Femme Fatale</i>
Photo: Jive
Britney Spears will officially release her new album on March 15, and now fans know what that album will be called. Drumroll, please ...
It's called Femme Fatale. The news came Wednesday (February 2) after a flurry of teaser tweets from the pop star. "I've poured my heart and soul into this album over the last 2 years. I've put everything I have into it. This album is for you, my fans, who have always supported me and have stuck by me every step of the way! I love you all!" she wrote. "Sexy and Strong. Dangerous yet mysterious. Cool yet confident!"
She then tweeted, " 'FEMME FATALE' ... March ...." Spears tweeted a picture of the album cover as well. In the close-up shot, the singer, wearing little makeup and with her hair mussed, looks seductively into the camera. In December, Britney tweeted that she was busy getting her photo snapped by one very famous photographer. "Had such an amazing photo shoot with Mario Testino today," she wrote. It's unconfirmed whether those Testino photos were for the album art.
A press release for the title announcement dubs the album "a tribute to bold, empowered, confident, elusive, fun, flirty women and men. It's not a conceptual album, Spears is letting the music speak for itself. She's worked hard on it for two years and she considers it to be her 'best album to date,' true to where she is now personally and professionally."
On Tuesday night, Spears teased her fans about the news, tweeting, "P.S. - Stay tuned for a big announcement from Brit tmw."
In pop culture, femme fatales have typically been mysterious women whose seductive powers over men often lead to dangerous situations. Captured in 1940s and '50s film noir flicks like "Gilda" and "Double Indemnity," actresses Rita Hayworth and Barbara Stanwyck were known for playing those kinds of roles on the big screen. The Velvet Underground also captured the essence of the lady with a track of the same name sung by the group's resident femme fatale, Nico.
The album's lead single, "Hold It Against Me," was quickly embraced by Spears' fans when it was released earlier this month. It has also found love in the DJ community, with multiple remixes of the track gaining buzz.
Spears has big promotional plans for this release, including "a major TV event to launch the album" and a TV campaign, which will feature a variety of spots before the LP hits stores. The promotional rollout will extend to advertisements on everything from the Internet to the sides of taxicabs. Other marketing schemes include an "LGBT/ Lifestyle campaign," worldwide online fan contests and routine tweets from Brit.
The pop star recently wrapped up work on her video for "Hold It Against Me." Her choreographer, Brian Friedman, spoke to MTV News about the clip, set for release next month. "I can tell you that Britney is wearing a couple of hats in this video — not literal hats, but she's playing roles in this video. That is what I can give you," he explained. "In every role, she is dancing. She is going to be dancing throughout the whole video. Like I said: Dance is the focal point of this video."
He also revealed a little about the costumes: "She's taking fashion risks. Things we've never seen her wear before she's wearing in this video, and I think it's just very sexy and it's a little bit playful," he said. "She's going to be doing something in this video that we've never seen her do. I'm not gonna tell you what that is, but she's going to be sweating and she's going to be getting bruised and battered."

DAS Communications' lawyer claims producer Dr. Luke convinced her to breach contract.
By Jocelyn Vena
Ke$ha
Photo: Fotonoticias/ Getty Images
Ke$ha is being sued by her former managers at DAS Communications for upwards of $14 million, Ken Freundlich, who is representing DAS in the case, confirmed to MTV News.
"DAS was Ke$ha's manager since the beginning of 2006, and there was a written agreement, and they worked closely, and sometime in September 2008 [producer] Dr. Luke, for his own personal gain, somehow induced her to breach that contract," Freundlich said. "And she unceremoniously terminated DAS without justification and then ended up with Luke, basically. So we sued Ke$ha for breach of contract and Luke for interference, and that was last year, and the defense's reaction was to try and delay us. They made motions.
"The judge denied all their motions, and now we're going forward. We're going to have our day in court," he continued. "And we're going to prove that Dr. Luke induced her to breach the contract. She had no right to do so, and we're gonna get damages from her."
Freundlich explained how he and his team came to the $14 million sum, explaining, "We don't know exactly how much, but we assume it's in that range. She's been quite successful. The case is set. It's gonna go on the rest of this year. We're gonna go straight to the trial if we have to."
Ke$ha has filed a suit in California against the management team, but Freundlich is confident nothing will come of her claim that they acted as an "illegal talent agent." "That's pending out in California. Even though that case is still pending, I don't think it has any merit," he said.
Calls to Ke$ha's legal team and rep were not returned to MTV News by press time.

'I have not been approached to fill in for Robert Plant on the Zeppelin tour, but that isn't to say I won't be,' singer says.
By Chris Harris
Former Soundgarden and Audioslave frontman Chris Cornell has spoken out for the first time about rumors that he's been asked to fill in for Robert Plant on a proposed Led Zeppelin reunion tour. The trek would feature original guitarist Jimmy Page, original bassist John Paul Jones and Jason Bonham taking over on drums for his late father, John Bonham.
Cornell has been mentioned — along with Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl, former Van Halen frontman Sammy Hagar, White Stripes mastermind Jack White and Alter Bridge's Myles Kennedy — as a potential Plant fill-in. Plant has already said that he wouldn't take part in the tour.
"I have not been approached so far to fill in for Robert Plant on the upcoming Zeppelin tour, but that isn't to say I won't be," Cornell told MTV News. "I've heard that from about 200 people now, and it might be one of those situations where it's just an online rumor or it might be true. But if you see anyone from Led Zeppelin around, let me know. I think I should actually fill in for Jimmy Page on the Robert Plant/ Alison Krauss tour."
Cornell's denial comes just a day after Aerosmith guitarist Brad Whitford confirmed reports that frontman Steven Tyler recently met with Zeppelin for an impromptu jam session. "They did it for fun," Whitford said during an appearance on the syndicated show "Todd N Tyler Radio Empire." "I actually think Jimmy wanted Steven to come over and play a little bit because I think he was trying to light a fire under Robert."
Rumors of a Zeppelin reunion tour have abounded since the iconic band played a single reunion set last year at London's O2 Arena. Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider added fuel to the fire last month when he revealed that the group was thinking of touring, with or without Plant.
According to Snider, the rest of the band told Plant, " 'We're all rehearsed, we're ready to go. Here's a gazillion dollars on the table. If you don't do it, we're going out with this kid [Myles Kennedy].' "
"And he can sing the sh-- out of Zeppelin," Snider added. "They're going to hope that Robert, at the last minute, will go, 'OK,' and step in."
In a recent interview, Jones told BBC Radio Devon that a new singer was being sought to take over for Plant. "We are trying out a couple of singers," he said. "We want to do it. It's sounding great, and we want to get on and get out there."
But Jones insists that he, Page and Bonham aren't interested in finding a Plant clone. "It's got to be right," he said. "There's no point in just finding another Robert. You could get that out of a tribute band, but we don't want to be our own tribute band. There would be a record and a tour, but everyone has to be onboard."
Of course, even if Zeppelin were to approach him, Cornell might be too busy to take over vocals for the band. His upcoming Timbaland-produced solo LP, Scream, will be released within the next few months. Cornell told MTV News last month that some of his fans might consider Scream something of a departure, but he doesn't see it that way.
"It makes me happy that there's this perception that I have a group of fans that I'm now sort of throwing a curve at and what their reaction will be," he said. "But I've been in this situation so many times already. When I put out [1999's] Euphoria Morning, my main goal was to create an album that sounded like nothing I'd done in Soundgarden, and I did that. I also had that with Temple of the Dog, where I showed up with songs that weren't necessarily riff-based. And then, of course, the pairing of me and members of Rage Against the Machine had everyone sort of speculating about what that would sound like.
"It feels like I've done this so many times that when it's presented to me as being a departure, I feel that's a misconception," he added. "I feel like that's my theme at this point."

DAS Communications' lawyer claims producer Dr. Luke convinced her to breach contract.

According to Mindless Behavior, touring with Justin Bieber is a rowdy experience.
The rising quartet, which includes 13- and 14-year-old Philadelphia and Los Angeles natives Prodigy, Roc Royal, Princeton and Ray Ray, hit the road with Justin Bieber in December. When they stopped by the MTV News offices on Friday, they dished that opening up for the teen superstar meant rocking the stage for thousands while grappling with the Biebs' hard-core fanbase.
"It was crazy," plaited singer Ray Ray admitted. "He has a lot of fans."
Fellow Mindless singer Princeton — who fans may remember as that cute krumpin' kid from Gym Class Heroes' 2006 video for "Cupid's Chokehold/ Breakfast in America" — added that in addition to dodging legions of Beliebers, the boys had to bring it in massive arenas.
"Every night, 15,000 fans," the curly-haired crooner said, adding that the teen crew used the adrenaline to pump up their performances. "It made us nervous, but the minute we hit that stage — and the stage is big, by the way, like really big — but the minute we hit that stage the nerves just turned into great energy." Getting face time with concertgoers also helped to ease their nerves. "Before the show we always did meet-and-greets, so the fans were really nice and very supportive," Princeton explained.
With their peppy text-friendly jam "My Girl" gaining traction and their status as budding heartthrobs blossoming, the Mindless fellas got some tips from Bieber on how to handle their growing fame. Rapper Roc Royal said the "Baby" singer was really cool about doling out pop-star guidance.
"Bieber, he's a great dude. He gave us advice backstage. He's nice," Roc said. "He told us don't be nervous because it's just fans, and you love it."
Roc added that Bieber was always down for a laugh — even if it came at the expense of the Mindless guys' eardrums.
"[Our] favorite moments [were] when Bieber came into our room and we start playing," he smiled, recalling an instance in which the pop megastar barged into their rooms blasting an ear-shattering horn. "Like, he starts blowing the whistles in our rooms. [It's] like, 'Aw, man stop!'
"He came in on a Segway, and he was like [makes horn sound]. We were like, 'Ah!' " Roc continued. "Definitely those moments when we were backstage and we were in our sweats just having fun."
Pop-star mentorship aside, the boys insist that Bieber isn't going to get away with the reckless whistle-blowing. Ray Ray joked that the guys might just turn the intense energy of Bieber's fans against him. "We gonna put fans backstage so when he comes he gets attacked," he laughed.
Princeton had another idea: "Take his Segway!" he said, pretending to jack Justin's wheels, exclaiming, " 'What up, Biebs? Vrooom!' "

Discussing the tune, Vivanco said Mugler creative director and Gaga stylist Nicola Formichetti had found "a really articulate way" to describe it — " 'It's techno meets Whitney Houston, in a really good way.' "

There's a great deal of mystery surrounding the months before Heath Ledger's untimely death -- and now supermodel Gemma Ward has added a new piece to the puzzle. Ward, 23, tells the Australian newspaper The Herald Sun that she and fellow Aussie Ledger had a "magical" romance four months before he died.
Ward, who appears in the upcoming Pirates of Caribbean: On Stranger Tides says that she and Ledger first met in New York City when they were struggling with similar personal issues ("things that I won't get into," she says).
"I kind of met him at first and said, 'Listen, my mum's living with me right now and I'm kind of going through a hard time and I'm not interested in having a serious relationship with somebody right now,'" Ward recalls. "And he was like, 'You know, um, let's just be there for each other through these hard times we're both going through.' And we developed a relationship and we started seeing each other."
The pair spent Christmas of 2007 together in their mutual home city of Perth, where they met one another's families. Ledger was 28, and Ward was 20 at the time. The model remembers it as an "incredible" moment away from their celebrity lives.
"We were able to not be in any kind of a spotlight and not have to be meeting with people or be hounded by press or anything," Ward says of the vacation. "We lived in a magical kind of world where we weren't intruded upon."
The couple returned to New York together, where Heath died less than a month later of an accidental prescription drug overdose. Ward doesn't say whether they were still dating when he died, but she did take his death to heart -- abruptly leaving the media spotlight for two years. This year, she's returning to her modeling, stage and film careers, and she treasures the memory of her time with Ledger.
"There was no one like him -- and no one will ever be like him," says his former girlfriend. "I'm just so grateful I got to meet him and get as close as I did with him."
In his final days, Ledger was also linked to Lindsay Lohan and Mary Kate Olsen.

We may not know what it looks like, but we know it's coming soon, and, from the sound of things, it's going to be quite the experience.
We're talking, of course, about Lady Gaga's hotly anticipated "Born This Way" video, which she apparently shot this past weekend, and, according to her makeup artist Billy Brasfield, it's the kind of thing that defies explanation. And adjectives. (Though that didn't stop him from heaping 'em on.) In fact, the "BTW" video is apparently so awe-inducing that it brought Brasfield to tears.
"Have you ever been a part of something that was so profound, so inspiring, so incredibly beautiful, that as it was happening, it brought tears to your eyes and you had been given a gift, and you were thankful?" he tweeted on Monday. "It happened to me [and] I am thankful. 1/22, 1/23, 1/24- 2011 LADY GAGA--#BORNTHISWAY."
Brasfield then followed that message up with another tweet Tuesday morning (January 25), in which he continued to pile praise on the "Born This Way" clip.
"After days of sensory overload, of amazing song, ridiculously beautiful imagery, fashion, beautiful People, great friends, and a life changing experience, I am awake again after 24 hours of sleep," he wrote. "Hello New York City and snow."
Of course, Brasfield isn't the only member of Gaga's team hyping the "Born This Way" video these days. On Monday, LG's fashion director (and Thierry Mugler creative director) Nicola Formichetti took to his Twitter account to praise the shoot, writing, "Ok kids, get ready for ['Born This Way']. We've just created the most amazing thing ever."
